Israeli scholars at Hebrew and Bar-Ilan universities: yes there's a lot of truth to medieval accusations of desecration of the Host, iconoclasm, and even ritual sacrifice/use of blood Tradcaths: no we won't mention any of that but WILL get all hot about HUGUENOT iconoclasm. Edgy

BAP cares nothing about religious schisms and sectarian conflict and wants you to stop this eccentricity! Politically irrelevant...people attaqing Huguenots ffs do so because they're phhagging off, "look at how edgy I am, aren't I a badass Crusader" etc.

I also have a soft spot for Huguenots, not just because of the unjust massacre, but been frands with many of Huguenot descent, all of them very solid and good men, idk why, I always end up befriending them

a holdover of Manicheanism from the east introduced into Europe by Armenians. Or, some say, a holdover of paganism LARP'ing as Christian for cover, the more interesting possibility

Politically useless eccentricities is what these guys are about. LARP'ing as "medieval schoolmen" and rekindling ancient sectarian nonsense to prove they're edgy and "trad," but touching nothing that would be at all risky, "racist" or "antisemitic" in today's world
Funny you attaq "Tradical", bap, I just bloccd him days ago. Decided I couldn't stand the sanctimonious, abstruse jerk & his smartass, politically useless eccentricities. The straw was his promotion of "killing the mum to save the baby". So #ProLife! So, is #syncronicity heresy?

listen here dumbass they were talking about Huguenots...that happened a long time ago, right? So I brought up something that happened also long ago that they seem to conveniently not care about. You have empty head?

tired of cowardly "tradcaths" attaqing Huguenots, Calvinists and other soft targets, but touching nothing that might actually bring them personal risk

I don't believe you genuinely have an opinion about this saint or have looked into the matter at all. You do what you're told If you do care, Ariel Toaff, not exactly KMac, has the most thorough scholarly work, Blood Passover, and supports original story around Simon of Trent

One thing BAP can't stand are bullies. People who attaq the defenseless at no personal risk but cower like neuters before a challenge. Most "tradcaths" unfortunately like this, ready to slander HUGUENOTS ffs but saying nothing about medieval Catholic orientation toward Judaism
Sure... or maybe it's not wanting to offend politically powerful interests that dictate your new theology and cowering before their blackmail while very *bravely* attacking "Huguenot iconoclasm" at great personal risk, like you guys do.... We many never know!

I know it's all very obscure, like...why is private veneration OK if it's based off a lie...or...why does "Tradical" and tradcaths like you celebrate "broader reforms" made only in 1965 and reject traditional Catholicism?

it's very strange that you only realized this in 1965 almost 500 yrs later! What happened in 1965, did some new evidence come to light? Or something else? Anyway it's good to know that "trad" Catholicism means "Catholics before 1965 were wrong" that's very interesting!

you're right idk about all this tho, it seems he celebrates a lot of pretty obscure saints, more obscure than this one, what's the difference?

he was venerated until 1965 though. His feast day is March 24. (people in Tirol still venerate him) What changed in 1965? Did the Church return to a more traditional practice and Catholics before then had it all wrong?
